Alan Chen is on page 173 of 368 of Robopocalypse (Robopocalypse, #1)
I've already read the most of the book by skipping around, but now I'm going page-by-page so I can definitively mark this as Read

This guy wins at everything. He even won at love, just walking up to a girl, liking her, and then asking her dad if they could marry, even though the two hadn't even dated. More seriously, he survives with his life twice because he participated in the Berlin Olympics.

The editor should be reprimanded. I came across as sentence that didn't make sense and a sentence that was missing a period. Unacceptable!

On the plus side, Kyriakides lost a race in dramatic fashion, because of a blister. Seemingly, this is the first setback for him since he started running. Rather than showing how otherwise great he is, I write this to show how little drama there has been in this storytelling.

There is an epic story here, but there's no life in the writing. I'm getting very fed up with this.

Was looking for a quick read to meet my reading goal and saw this old thing. I read through it once before but took so many breaks that when I finished I hardly remembered anything.

After MONTHS of skipping around so much that I've basically covered everything already, I'm finally making a dedicated push to read this cover to cover. It's a quick read.

I was planning to read "What Ifs" (a collection of short alternate history essays) but switched to this not only because it's about one of the most heady tales of running, but because it's a story of pushing one's self to the limit, getting agonizingly close to ultimate victory and yet falling soul-crushingly short. Maybe here I'll find some answers as where to go after finishing 16 seconds short of the mountaintop.
