Ugh. I really don’t like the ending of the turn of the screw. After all the suspense, to never know how they achieved it or for what purpose the children are being influenced.

Some parts I found slow. And some characters could have been more deeply explained. The ending didn’t really bring closure. I doubt the fathers a changed man, and we never really understand why he things the whole worlds out to get him. But it was compelling enough to finish and Roth does a good job painting a vivid image on the page.

I really liked the two story lines about Frued and the end of the world. The Trotsky story line got boring, I’m not a fan of reading “musicals” not set to music.

Uggg. The Writing SUCKS!!! And a good percentage of the stories SUCK too!!! But a few have been interesting... so far, so I’ll keep reading it for now. even if the writing style’s should have never made it off the bathroom stall doors onto paper.
