Elissa is reading Lilac Girls (Woolsey-Ferriday, #1)
I Got half way through this book, but i cannot finish it. The imagry it creats disturbs me too much, more so then any other holocost book i have ever read. It struck a terrible cord with me, one that I can’t seem to get over. This book has effected me in a very negativeway, which I suppose should be the goal. It was written very well, but again, I’m having too much trouble emotionally, so i must stop reading.

Elissa is on page 144 of 160 of Riding Freedom
Another powerful book about a young orphan girl who disguised herself as a boy/ man in order to follow her passion for horses, and to provide for herself. I would really love to visit santa criz ca as it sounds like farm country. I would also love to visit the site of her former ranch. I felt a personal connection to " charley", because of my shared passion for horses . Horses are my identity, just as they were Hers.

Absolutely stunning book, emotiona ending. It's hard to believe this book was meant for children given the brutal natyre of personal struggle and war. What moved me the most was identifying with Ada's childhood trauma, physical and mental differences as compared to "normal" children, and how the love of horses Gave her hope and life..... Gave us both.I will never forget this book- i will never forget Ada and Butter

Elissa is finished with The Kitchen House
A novel that sucked me in and tugged at my emotions. A story of the brutality of womanhood and of plantation life. I felt a strong connection to the main character lavinia... It felt as though i was reading about mysrlf at another time. Especially when it cane to lavinia's desire to be a caretaker of everyone and everything. I absolutely loved this book and my mind is still replaying scenes days after finishing.
