I'm lowkey obsessed with this book. It's SO GOOD.

Very interesting and enjoyable to read as a story but but def problematic with loads of unpleasant xenophobic notions with undertones of fetishizing (the lovely, English fiancé vs. the foreign, tempting "other" with strange powers) and of course, the man merely falls under temptation of her (supernatural?) powers. It is a conflicting to read but I'm definitely interested in reading the rest of the novella.
