Am I forcing this one to drag a bit… yup. Almost don’t want to know all the secrets too soon; cause it’s so good!

This just reads so slow… I don’t know why as half of it is repetition of what we already know. Maybe that is why because I’m a bit bored?

Ohh a good little twist moment… more to come I suspect

As an Albertan, with our dumb provincial government talking separatism (waste of time, money, and energy), it’s important to know I’m a proud Canadian. I stayed where I was born and raised (Calgary) and hope most don’t believe the propaganda.
Alberta does love Canada, it’s the loud yahoos who don’t. This nonsense will be done soon (I hope).

Ah Alix. Always glazing over the obvious and letting the reader infer. :)

The audio is sooo good! And the odd jumps from our core story to flashes in the future from another character are just enough to create intrigue and tip us off that this isn’t going to end well… loving it.

Listening on audio while I do crafting/stitching. Love narrator so far.
A bit creeped out that the MC’s work situation of being passed up for promotion (again) and knowing they are in a work rut is sooo similar to my own… like soo similar it’s creepy. (Well except no one handed me oodles of random cash…) this is stating off STRONG!

A shout-out to all of my followers, but especially those who consistently like and engage on my posts. I appreciate each and every one of you!
On tough days (today) it helps to know someone cares about my thoughts, on any topic. Sometimes just being seen is enough, and today those engagements really boosted me.

So many of our precious children come back in this one. One of the rare times where reading these in order would be relevant to the story.

Well this is just crazy, fascinating, and slightly unhinged. I’m hooked!

Needed an audiobook while crafting… randomly selected this from what was available to me and on my TBR…

I’m having a hard time aligning with our leading lady. I know the point Nnedi is making here but I’m just finding her MC to be a bit too much. Her selfishness seems to go to a level that I find uncomfortable.

Swapped to the audio of this one for a bit. I love the just there accents of our readers. Not too harsh to make it hard to understand (Nigerian accents can be rough when thick!) but more than enough there to note.
I told my South African co-worker who has a gorgeous accent she should absolutely keep rolling her R’s as she struggled to loose her accent. Just like that situation, I love the roll here too.

Little foreshadows and hints of what’s to come…

”I can’t be normal, so I’ll be something else.”
The contemporary story is starting to pull me in.
This line is absolutely wonderful. Most of us can’t be ‘normal’ so we need to be the ‘something else’. I’m proud to say I’m ’something else’ and that I get to develop most of that narrative and definition.

I just want to read the ‘fictional’ (it’s all fictional but you know what I mean) robot story. I’m far less interested in the contemporary story going on here (so far).

Much easier to read print copy as it has obvious font and other indicators of whose chapter it is. My kobo ebook is a bit tougher to tell occasionally.
We have multiple POVs and then the story our one lead gal is writing interspersed as its own chapters as well (although those are from the POV of a robot and a bit easier to pick out, lol)

Interesting… the two different sister’s perspectives will change the story significantly I suspect.

This is very intriguing… I love the concept. However the overall plot is very locked room mystery… not a genre I tend to like. But I think it’s very accessible for murder mystery fans to read a book set on a space station/ship.

Last of the Hugo nominated novellas to get through.

My print copy is so pretty with black and white illustrations throughout!

I’m gonna need a palette cleanser after this crazy time travel book. So I’m going with an author I trust to bring it and completely take my mind off this book I’m close to finishing. Please don’t let me down Alix!
