I mean, I've read Opposite of Always, how did I not see the twist coming? Oh yeah, because I didn't read the synopsis, because it's Justin A. Reynolds.

Such an easy audiobook to listen to. And if you think England is a country of super-posh people, this is the book for you. If not... simply enjoy the absurdity of it.

Προχωρώντας αργά αλλά σταθερά (τα μέχρι τώρα σύντομα κεφάλαια βοηθούν σ'αυτό, τα προτιμώ από τα εκτενή που σε κάνουν να χάνεις το μπούσουλα), θυμάμαι γιατί είχα ευχαριστηθεί το πρώτο βιβλίο του Εκατοντάχρονου.
Από την άλλη, φοβάμαι μήπως το τέλος του είναι ακόμη πιο απογοητευτικό από του πρώτο βιβλίου.
Συγκρατημένα αισιόδοξη επιτρέπω στον Άλαν να πάει την ιστορία όπου αυτός θέλει (πάντα αυτό συμβαίνει άλλωστε).

What the book is building towards seems to be coming up at the halfway mark, so I'm excited at what's about to come... After that!

So far Ness's writing style in Burn makes it the most page-turning book of his I've read.
Plot-wise we have some things coming together, yet still enough way to go.
I'm enjoying it, although I feel that the issue of prejudice, albeit being one of the main themes of the book, is only covered on a surface level.
I still have two thirds of the book to go though...

This is a very much a book you read for the journey, because you partly know what the destination is going to be and I think these are my favourite kind of stories...

My first book by this author, it's interesting how we see the protagonist through the narrator's voice, who is actually her best friend.

Knowing what happens makes this so easy to fly through!
In a way it's like revisiting the world with bonus scenes.
I love how brutally honest Katniss is even in her internal monologue, it absolutely suits her character.

I know we're early doors and I've seen the films so I'm all cought up with the plot, but 15% through and we're still summarising the first book...
Still I hope I'll fly through this.

Still annoyed with the protagonist...

Everyone's been praising this book and I'm over here thinking: "I do NOT like the protagonist!".
Is it the narration? The things she says are not necessarily untrue, but the way she says them comes off as... Whiny and superior. Does it get better?

Fun, easy to listen to, comes with the expected tropes which I don't really mind, like both protagonists are attracted to each other but won't say it.

Quick read, we don't really get to know the protagonist, though...

So far it's a very quick read for me, I expected it and I'm also grateful, as I'm STILL coming out of a reading slump.
Not much character structure so far, but I'm keen on reading on.

This is my first McLemore book and I just feel a bit... Disconnected.
It might be because I'm listening to the audiobook; the narrators are very good, but I have a hard time concentrating on the story and the time changes.
I like the "deadly red shoes" part of the book, but the rest of the plot is not pulling me in.

Μικρά κεφάλαια, γρήγορα ροή, μέχρι στιγμής πάει καλά...

Started it yesterday because I needed a warm quick read and I know it's not Christmas (even the people.i t he book reminded me of that), but it's the first time in my life I'm craving Christmas stuff so much, so I'm going with it.
I'm loving the realistic friendship struggle I'm reading about, I think I'll finish it today, it's super quick anyway.

Μέχρι στιγμής χτίζει ατμόσφαιρα και προσμονή για τη συνέχεια, μου φαίνεται ότι θα είναι ένα μεγάλο ταξίδι μέχρι το βασίλειο.

Looking better, still not quite above 4 stars.

Not particularly grabbing my attention so far. I have to keep in mind that it is no small feat, attempting to combine politics and a coming-of-age fun story.

Νιώθω ότι τώρα αρχίζει το καλό, αν και το βιβλίο ήταν ήδη καλό... 😂 Οπότε σε καλό δρόμο είμαστε. (Δε θα ξαναπώ καλό για ένα 24ωρο, ουπς μόλις το είπα-έγραψα 🤐)
