I’m continuing on from Chapter 51 to read the library’s online copy. I was listening to the audio version but traded in for a new phone and lost the download. ☹️

The punctuation is horrendous! Is it on purpose?! Be quiet, proofreading brain! 😩

Yay!! I’m finally starting this book that has waited a long time for me to start. 💙

BOTM. Audiobook.

This book was one I ended up with at the end of a dirty Santa game at work and isn’t one I would have picked myself, but I tried reading it until I DNF’d about fourth of the way through. Again, not a genre I read, and there were so many people involved that I made myself a cheat sheet in the beginning of the book.

Heart wrenching. I’m having to read a little at a time and then set it down.

“When enough hardship happens within a small circumference, the roads to all the familiar places are a little more than crisscrossing scars.”

Pausing on page 112 to begin a new book for book club.

“No Brown Sugar in Anybody’s Milk”

So close to the end, but it’s looking like it’s going to be the first book I finish in 2025.

This is my July Book of the Month club choice. I had low expectations bc I have not been pleased for a long time with their selections, but it is so good! I can’t wait to pick it back up when I have to put it down.

“My life had been in [my attorney’s] hands, but he never valued my life.”

(So many impactful quotes in this book!)

I’m beginning this book today, and I just noticed Lara Love Hardin was a collaborative writer on Sun Does Shine. Lara wrote Mama Love, which I loved!

DNF. It slowly kept going and going with no direction, and I didn’t look forward to picking it up and reading.

With Anna Chedethi nursing the baby, a sleepless Big Ammachi makes her way alone to the spot where Shamuel found Elsie’s clothes.

When Ninan is three, Uplift Master speculates that the boy is a budding Congress Party politician because he regularly visits every house in Parambil.

“All water is connected and only land and people are discontinuous.”

My friends got me this book for my birthday, and I’ve put off reading it because it’s 724 pages, and I know I’m not going to want to put it down.

I got to page 14 when I started it July 5, then put it down, and had to start it over last night. I kept confusing this story with another. So I’m going to say I’m technically beginning this book on July 13.

Chapters 60 and 61: insightful and sad.
