A brutal opening book

The story is, as are the lives we read about, fractured. We see the stories unfold slightly out of order. Yet it is not difficult to follow. In fact the slight disconnect in the telling of the stories makes it easier to understand. Worthy of the title of Winner Canada Reads 2024.

The incredible tale of Vietnamese refuges durning the war and communist take over. We see how families are affected during the war and their perilous journeys to find their way to new homes.
