Back in 1979 my parents took us to see a movie at the drive inn called Night Wing. I remember bits and pieces of that movie. Fast forward to a couple years ago to a bookstore in San Francisco I see this book. I grab it and behold; this is the book the movie was based on. I am currently about 200 miles away from way the story takes place. Its fitting to read this now.
So far this is like Jaws with Bats.

As I am reading the charcter hears crash , bang , boom in the distance, at that exact moment something in my house goes crash, bang, boom. Talk about a freak out !

I wish that "Messenger" in the sky would burn up. The Industrial revolution sucks.

I had a cat named Olivia. She was not solid black, but a Tuxedo. I iss her. She liked to sleep in baskets.

I remember this cover from the many books my mom had when I was a child. So of course I had to get a copy for my read.

Why are we making eys at the guy when there are terrible ghosts around? Ugh. I am glad I am not 20 anymore.

Gosh. 20 year olds are kinda annoying. But hey I was probably annoying when I was 20. I am just going with it.

I am not sure I believe anyone in this story. They are all hiding things.

I knew things were going to get bad, as in people behaving badly, but Nick takes the cake at the moment. I think they are all bad.

I see what is happening.

I think I have this figured out. It been a bit slow going. But I have not been devoting the time to reading. I need to work on that.

Fog is always a bad sign.

As I read this , I keep feeling like I have read this before....but then maybe not....and I do not remember watching the movie ever , it seemed too scary almost. Maybe is the cultural knowledge of this book, it is a classic. weird .

I thought I would read the first few paragraphs to see if it grabbed me, The Silent Companions have me in their clutches.

Not gonna lie, the MC is a douche bag. Ick.

I suck at reading in 2021.

Being that it was minus 25 this morning, reading about a draught in Austrailia is sure differnent. I can't handle the heat, I ingine the sweat...boob sweat, butt crack sweat, ick no thank you.

Not sure I wold really want to live in the Golden State....I would suck at keeping my daybook.

Anyone else struggling to read? I was doing fine at the beginning of the pandemic, but I am really just frazzled now. The past 3 month have been intense.
