this reads like a coming of age novel more than a romance novel, and I’m digging it tbh

this is my Alice impression : "I am so ugly and horrible and shitty. How could anyone ever want me!" I get her mom has made her insecure, but it’s a bit overkill imo

i HATE this twist. all the characters have pretty well fleshed out personalities, which makes this Niko stuff just so glaringly obviously bad. it is so incredibly dumb for Niko to be acting SO out of character for plot purposes. makes me want to skim the rest of this bc it seems as though we are fully committed to contrived drama now boooooo
