The writing is mostly fine but I'm not used to reading romanji anymore, Clavell uses "ne" to distraction and he also gets some things weirdly wrong, like how everyone has "Murasama" swords.

I wish the last two thirds of this book didn't have anything redeemable in it, so I could just throw it across the room and be done with this series and Suzanne Collins forever. But there's actually some good stuff in here, and that just makes all of the bad stuff all the more frustrating.
