Eek! This is great so far. It’s kind of like… T Kingfisher’s prose and witticisms crossed with the underlying world conflict in Deathless by Catherynne Valente, one of my favorite books.

I am… so confused? Still hung up on the fingers in the tub drain in chapter 1 when they go on and on about how delicious fingers are in basically every chapter since.

This is what I was expecting from The Jasad Heir/Crown. Absolutely fantastic so far!

Listening to the audiobook—just realized it’s the same narrator (Elizabeth Knowelden) as Spellbreaker/Spellmaker by Charlie N Holmberg. I’ve really liked her work so far. She has a very aesthetic voice for these settings.

I feel like the writing style takes a severe dip after chapter 15…? Suddenly way less description, constant time jumps…

Also, how did they dance the May Pole for three hours? The whole point is to braid the ribbons down the pole, right?
