Eve Babitz understands the female experience

I know it’s hard to truly have an unbiased author but damn does her (fully admitted to in the book) disdain for Didion take away from the experience unless you too are a Didion hater

Ok goodreads friends, do I read Didion and Babitz by Lili Anolik or The Mother Load by Sarah Hoover??

Another lesson: if going hiking even for a few hours bring lots of extra food/water

So far a great reminder of why I will never hike into a jungle or really anywhere

The characters are annoying especially the MFC but I still have hope yet!

Ava has got to be one of the most annoying and delusional characters I've ever read. She is almost unbearable. Matt is just a normal guy who somehow puts up with and loves Ava despite him being able to do much better. And yet I can't put this book down.
