Jutka ended up marrying an American soldier named Ike who was helping out with his friend Fred. They kept stopping by whenever they were free, and Ike proposed to her on her birthday and then they moved to Maine after the war. They had 3 kids, and went with Ilona to Hungary for the first time after the war in 1977. Most of the people she knew had died but there were a few survivors, and they told stories together.

Jutka is in a labor camp with her mother and Magda with little food. So far Jutka and her family have been lucky in where they got sent, and when Jutka was chosen to go clean the commander's house where she got extra food. They had the choice to go to another camp and tried to go, but someone there wouldn't let them, probably b/c they shared cake together; they were actually tricked, it was a concentration camp.

Magyar is a student in Hungary. She was living a pretty normal life and was performing in a poetry competition. Hitler is beginning to take over, so when she was in the middle of reciting she experienced her first time facing anti semitism by people she thought she knew. Other than that though, school is staying mostly the same.

Jutta has a child named Max. Volkheimer comes and gives her the package and tells her about Werner, which inspires her to go find Marie and give her the little model house Werner had with him when he died. Marie also had a kid, and a husband but they got divorced (but they're still all friendly).

Werner helps Marie get through the city to the French, where she's united with Etienne and Madame Manec. Werner ends up getting captured by the French, gets sick again and dies (seems like it was on purpose).
Fast forwards to present time (2014), Volkheimer has PTSD and receives a package of Werner's stuff. Frederick has brain damage and can't function on his own.

Marie has been alone in the house because Etienne was taken away. Von Rumpel really wants the stone Marie has so he keeps coming and looking for it while she hides, and she's low on food. Werner heard her on the radio again and found her and has come to save the day.

Marie and Etienne are the ones making a lot of the rebel broadcasts, and the Germans are picking up on it. They realized that it is causing innocent people's deaths and although they feel guilty they continue to do it. I think Marie and Werner might end up meeting each other soon, but I'm not sure how that will end up going down. Probably badly.

Werner has been using his radio to track rebel broadcasts. At first he feels guilty for leading the Germans to these people, but he is starting to get used to the deaths and it doesn't bother him anymore. He got sick though and led them to the wrong place, and an innocent mother and child ended up getting killed.
Marie and Etienne are fighting back in the resistance after Madame died.

Marie wants to see her great uncle Etienne but he never leaves the house because he is scarred from the war.
Werner's sister Jutta doesn't want him to go to the school. She is skeptical of their country because she listened to broadcasts in Paris and knows that Germany sucks.

Marie and her dad are staying outside a hotel because the person they were going to see already fled the town. Madame Manec is making them food, and seems to really care about them.
Werner got accepted to the fancy school he had to try out to get into. He leaves in a couple weeks, and his sister Jutta seems to be pretty upset, and is avoiding him.

Both Werner and Marie's areas where they are staying are being blown up and set on fire. There are short chapters going between the two areas, Paris and Germany, which show that although the regions are attacking each other they are also very similar, which I thought was interesting.

The war started in Paris. Werner's sister Jutta was listening to her radio (against the rules) and heard this news. It's kept a secret from the rest of the German kids it seems, but all the Nazi youth groups are growing pretty quickly. In Paris Marie and her dad are quickly leaving, and everything's chaotic but Marie has a hard time, and her blindness is likely going to cause greater issues later on.

Werner is at school seeing all the older boys joining the Nazis and watching plays that discriminate against Jews.
Marie is learning how to cope with being blind. She still sees colors in her mind, which I thought was interesting.

Marie-Laure is a 6 year old who visited a museum with her dad. The tour guide told a story about a diamond known as the "Sea of Flames" that allowed a prince to live forever, but also ruined his life. Marie was almost blind and then after leaving the museum went blind a month later.

At Dorothy's party Amy managed to get her away from everyone else and attempted to kill her. Then they went onto a roof and she failed to kill her again, but they both fell off the roof. They lost their chance to kill Dorothy but the wizard and Ozma (Pete) have another plan.

Apparently Pete actually had nothing to do with the Order but he's still weird. Jellia, the head maid was Amy's handler, and took the blame for letting the monkey Maude go free which I definitely didn't see coming. Now she's gone though, and Nox is here disguised as some other guy to help her out. When the whole scene with Jellia happened the Wizard mysteriously disappeared too which is suspicious.

Amy was promoted to second maid but then Jellia spilled nail polish and had to carry a rat in her pocket so now she's back to normal. She helped Ollie escape and now is in a maze with Pete.

"Astrid" was cleaning in the hallways when she heard the Wizard is back, snuck over and heard that the tin man has a crush on Dorothy and that Dorothy hates the Wizard. She got caught by the Wizard later and he sounded pretty sketchy, and then she went back into her room to find Pete just chilling on her bed.

They went out to kill the Lion and Gert died, so they had to send Amy to kill Dorothy sooner. She's disguised as a maid named Astrid. They said there'll be someone inside who says when it's time to kill Dorothy (pretty sure it's that Pete guy who was there when she was in the jail cell but she hasn't seen him yet). She ran into the scarecrow who's super creepy and now they're at breakfast. Ozma knows who she is.

There's also a witch named Gert who can read minds but she seems pretty cool. They're all in the Order of the Wicked, and they want Amy to kill Dorothy for them.

Amy and Indigo rescued a monkey named Ollie who was all tied up because of his "crime of sass" which is pretty ridiculous. They were caught and Indigo died, but Amy was taken to Oz. Dorothy found out she's also from Kansas and was going to put her on trial, but that mysterious boy and a witch named Mombi helped her escape. Glinda's twin sister (Glamora) and that quiet boy (Nox) are there too.

The tornado got worse and sucked Amy into Oz. At first a boy came and helped her out and then bailed, and then a goth munchkin named Indigo came and also bailed after telling her that Dorothy ruined everything there. She just saw Glinda while following the road. Everyone's saying she's like Dorothy, which is kind of weird.

Just started the book. Amy was at school when she got in a fight with Madison Pendleton, who's very pregnant. She's pretty rude and always calls Amy trailer trash but hey look who's pregnant right?? She got suspended and there's a tornado which is pretty inconvenient for a trailer park.

Kim is with Mia telling her all the events of the day which she already knows. She wonders if when you die you remember your life because she'd want to remember Kim. There's a flashback to a Labor Day party with their family, Kim, and Adam, and Mia played a song with Adam and her dad. Then back to real time, Adam comes back and starts crying and talking about everything. She feels his hand and then wakes up, the end!

Mia realizes that Teddy is dead too. There is a flashback to his birth, and leading up to it, and a flashback to the only funeral she has been to and how the funeral dumb and meaningless. Then it shows when her dad switched from band dude to actual dad, and when she started listening to his music. Adam is in the room with her now. Flashback to the Julliard audition and not telling Adam about it, etc.

Flashback to when Mia was younger and considering quitting the cello. Kim convinced her not to by forcing her to go to this summer camp for musicians. She went, met some other people and has gone back every year since (4 years?). Back to real time, Adam and Kim are trying to sneak in by creating a scene with the musician Brooke. The rest gets kicked out but nurse Willow lets them in.

Adam finally arrived with Kim. The nurses won't let them in to see Mia because they aren't immediate family, so they're pretty upset and started screaming a bit. Another flashback. When Mia started dating Adam she was worried Kim would be mad, and also wanted them to be BFFs too which is completely unrealistic and caused some anger. But now they're working together at the hospital to get in to see her.

Mia is in the hospital, watching her body from outside it. All her family is there, just sitting in the waiting room. Her friend Kim shows up with her mom, who sort of creates a scene so they leave. There are flashbacks to how Mia and Adam met, the first concert they went to, and all Adam's shows that she put up with but still felt uncomfortable in. They also went to a Halloween party.

This book started off with Mia's perfect, happy family. It was a snowy day, and the family decided to take a trip to their grandparent's house. On the way they get into a bad car accident. Mia's parents die, but her brother is alive. She has a sort of out of body experience going on. There are a lot of flashbacks to Mia's life before, with her boyfriend Adam or playing music, as she's a talented musician.

After this, Hiro is pretty upset but realizes he has new friends and that he should try and do things to make Tadashi and Baymax proud. When he comes back he tries to mend his relationship with Aunt Cass, and gives her a mini version of Baymax. He also starts inventing things to help people, like giving his professor an invention that grows hair. In the end he finds Baymax and Tadashi's old hat in his room.
