Wondering why I haven't read this sooner. Glad I was judged to tackle it this year

Bridget is 40% done with Reflections on a Ravaged Century
Chapter 5: Totalitarian Party- Totalitarian State has a perfect description of the current protestors.

Definitely recommend the chapter as a while, but will try to share the specific paragraphs later

Bridget is 2% done with You'll Do: A History of Marrying for Reasons Other Than Love
Not a good start. Right off the bat; America is a racist country (thought this would reference Loving vs Virginia, but no), America was formed as "a rights distribution mechanism", transactional marriage is specifically an American 'problem'.

It appears Zug has an agenda here and it isn't scholarship. If the book continues in this direction it will be a DNF I am glad I got from the library.

Bridget is 30% done with Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity—and Why This Harms Everybody
I've been picking at this one off and on.
It is a bit too academic in its presentation for my current mindset, so I am setting it aside for a while

Bridget is 90% done with The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization
Everywhere I look now, I see the sand required to create all the things. This I knew, but don't often consider.
What I never considered, is how much sand is required and how much damage sand mining causes.

Recently re-watched the Road Dahl movie version, decided I wanted to read the original Ian Fleming story. Quite sure it will be a different adventure all together

Very interesting story, not just of Sarah Winchester. The coverage of the Winchester Arms company is engaging, as well
