I'm moving this to my "paused" shelf because I still have hopes I'll finish it someday, but so far the slow pace and overly pedantic tone is killing me

Well, this is awkward... The book I thought I was picking was The Maid, by Nita Prose, but then I start reading and the girl's name is Millie and there's no hotel and I was very confused... Since I already started this, I guess I'll stay and see what the fuss is about for myself
