You can tell they were trying really hard to “BookTok-ify” Phantom of the Opera with this one. (I say, “they” because I’m certain Craig didn’t have complete freedom while writing this book) And in the process, they tanked historical immersion and characterization faster than Erik dropped the chandelier.
