Lynn is starting Tree Finder: A Manual for the Identification of Trees by Their Leaves
This is a reference book that you dip into as needed. It’s not a book that you read from beginning to end. I like it a lot, find it very useful for tree ID.

Quite a read so far. The author had a tough life. I’m anxious to see how she managed to triumph in the end.

I'm 1/2 way in. This might not be a book you want to read if you live in San Fran (cameron). Its details about city locations give me the creeps and I don't even know the city well. One address mentioned is right where Cameron lived. I feel that it's over coded on city details--it keeps reminding me of "The Californians" on SNL with its location details. Otherwise, it's an interesting conversation on relationships.

I have stopped reading this, but keep meaning to get back to it. I find it tough going due to my lack of knowledge, whether it be from history,Torah, Bible. I think I need to begin again.

I found this book very frustrating. The description was good, but I didn't like the dynamic among the characters. For example, one of the characters kept wondering what time it was and I found myself thinking, "Dammit--get a grip--go find out!. I'm sure the creation of that dynamic was purposeful on the part of the author, but I just didn't like it.

I stopped reading this in order to read The Paris Wife for book club. I'll get back to it, but will read the rest in Spanish. It's one of those books that seems rather transparent, so I feel that I know how it will end.

I'm not sure I'll finish this. Maybe I'll read the Spanish version for good practice.

I didn't initially know that this was non-fiction. It's a very interesting story thus far, using the collecting of art as a leitmotif that takes the reader through the cultural background that led to the Holocaust. It's what you don't usually hear about the mindset that allowed that to occur. But, I find that it does not keep me glued to it.
