Contrast and Contradictions - Minho just came out of the maze and Thomas didn't know what was going on. Thomas kept asking him questions like what did he see. Minho got mad at Thomas and told him to wait for Alby. Thomas kept asking questions and I don't know why he kept asking them because he just kept annoying Minho. He is probably asking questions because he is curious and wanted to know what was going on.

Memory Moment - Luke remembers when he was back in his house talking to Jen for the first time. He remembered when he first saw Jen on the computer when se was making those noises with the computer. This is important to the book because Jen was the first person Luke met that was a third child like him. Luke thought he saw someone in the window of Jen' house and when he snuck into her house, he finally met her.

Aha Moment-Luke's mom is finally explaining to Luke that he has to be hidden from the rest of the world since a family can only have two children. Luke didn't like the way things were. After his mom explained, he finally realized that he had to hide from the Government because he didn't want to be taken. This might change how the family runs their life. Luke will have to be hidden from all the windows as he grows up.

Words of the Wiser - It was Ben's first time out skiing. He went to rent skis and ski boots. Zoe asked him if he was all good and he said his boots were tight. She asked if that was it and he said he was scared for the first time skiing. She told him, "Your not going to fail, if you know your stuff backward and forward you'll do just fine." This will affect Ben later on because he will do fine if he knows his stuff.

Contrast and Contradiction - Catherine was on her way to Jason's birthday party with the guitar that she bought for him. As she was about to knock on the door she thought if she should just put the guitar on the door mat and run away. I didn't think she would think to do that. I thought she wanted to give the guitar the Jason. I think she is doing that because she was nervous being around Jason's parents and family.

Quoted Words: The Author put in a quote from William Windham about climbing to the top of the Alps. The quote talked about the journey to the top of the mountain and how it felt to be at the summit. I think the Author quoted the person to show that people really climb this huge mountain. The quote added a piece to show more what the mountain could look like from the descriptive words of Windham.

Numbers and Stats: The author told that ski tickets for mountain resorts used to cost only 25 cents. It shows how much the amount of tickets have changed. The author would show how much they used to be because it used to be so cheap to ski at a great big mountain. Nowadays ski tickets can be up to $150 for one day of skiing. I think it's crazy how the amount of a ticket has changed over the years.

Memory Moment - When George died, the team and George's sister flashed back to all the great memories that George had with the team. This memory was important because George was a huge part of the college and everyone looked up to him. He was a silent leader that everyone likes and appreciates. Now that George died, they reflected back on all the great things he did.

Words of the Wiser - Coach John told the team a story about a former player who was one of the most quite players. He worked hard every day by doing wallball after practice while the rest of the team was taking hot showers. After everyone noticed he was working hard, the team started working hard and everyone got better as a team. Now the team might come together and someone will start acting like the leader.

Aha Moment - One of the stories was about one boy that moved to a new school. His name was David. He was in sixth grade and joined a six-man football team. In their first game he was playing center. In one playb the quaterback threw the ball to David. He got tackled very hard.. It seemed like he couldn't breathe. After that he knew football wasn't the right sport for him. So he started to play baseball.

Contrast and Contradictions: There was one story at the start where there was a kid that never has been on a first date. He finally asked a girl to a dance. Then in gym class, he kicked a soccer ball wrong and broke his foot. So, his mom canceled the date with the girl to the dance and she never talked to him again. I think the girl did that because she was so upset that the boy couldn't go to theb dance with her.

Contrast and Contradictions - Mark was laying down with Beau telling him he didn't want to die. I don't really know why Mark isn't trying to stay alive by finding someone to take him to the hospital since he has known he was going to die. I think he just wants to end his life with him best friend right next to him.

Contrast and Contradictions: When Mark was buying candy bars with his, "last money," he decided he wanted to use the pay phone. So he put one candy bar back and got quarters. He went to the pay phone trying to remember the number. After he punched the numbers in the phone rang. Then he hung up right away. I didn't think he was going to do that. I think he did it because he remebered about not wanting to give up.
