can already tell this is gonna be a bad one lol

the lore and world building was a bit for me to get into but once i hit that 30-40% mark man i sped thru it and stayed up til 2:30am reading oops

was hoping this would be better than the author’s other works but i’m already predicting it’ll be a 3/5 lol

also im not a fan of the comphet trope “she was so small compared to his tall, broad, big frame.” “his hands are so large,” etc etc.

we need more short kings or even average height kings in romance books lol

really interesting plot

this is a very simple cozy read but it’s lacking any driving plot, so i’m a bit slow at getting through it right now.

(chapter 10) need to switch to the written book to read with my eyes. the audiobook is not good due to the author being really inaccurate in her stilted narration and inauthentic chinese accents (i did some research with a friend and turns out this is a white woman that mainly does white-authored horror and thrillers, so that explains it)
