ch 41 // the plot is definitely moving now but it is a bit predictable. i really adore the depth to all these characters though

progress: chapter 20 // so far i am hating beth’s sister francis but like good on the author for making such an unbearable character with the ability to grate on my fucking nerves (maybe it also has to do with the fact that i am an older sister and my younger sister would bother the heck out of me if she pulled this shit)

i’m only 7% in but like damn this is a slow book. yes i admit i’ve been reading faster paced books recently, and yes, they all include death or some kind of murder. but like… those weren’t terribly pretentious and overly wordy? idk i need to put this on hold and come back when i have the patience to read something slower. the reviews are all over the place so i can’t dnf yet
