Thus, far it’s still set-up and character development. I haven’t been able to disappear into the story yet.

I have looked for the end of each of the two chapters rather than not being able to put it down. I hope that happens soon.

That said, I’m enjoying it.

“Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn to see fear’s path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Just what I needed to get started reading again…something intriguing, but light.

I liked Malibu Rising, so I hope I’ll like this one.

I’m eager to commit to more reading and my Reading Challenge in 2024.

It feels like someone just telling her own story. I like recognizing both the differences and similarities of my experiences versus the character’s.

Too early to tell, but it’s my first real read after a ridiculous break. I’m just glad to be reading again.

She doesn’t look forward to reading this together, but when we do, she seems engaged. Curious...

Perhaps this isn’t the best bedtime reading. I had trouble getting her to stop talking to and as her stuffed tiger last night.

There was almost some giveaway information related to a certain holiday. As much as my daughter enjoys this, it is obviously an adult comic.

My daughter is not finding this super interesting so I can only read small sections at a time to her.

My daughter started reading this on her own and grew bored. I didn’t want her to give up on it so easily, so I’m reading this one to her. We haven’t been doing as much of that lately. It’s been great to share reading with her again.

This last chapter was an amazing exploration of hate. We have to be wary of allowing hate to grow in us and diminish our humanity.

Reading this, I’m wondering if friends on another political spectrum know they are putting forward an unequal system and are complicit in subverting it’s full message or if they are making decisions with limited information.

Not learning anything new thus far. That said, if these ideas had been presented to me years ago, it might have been a different story.

We must stop deceiving ourselves and others.

I started this book with a church small group, but started late and missed a few along the way. I decided to start again from the beginning so as not to miss anything. There is such thoughtful wisdom here.
