Now that I’m retired I’m knocking off some of the classics I avoided as a rudderless high school student.

I’m no intellectual, but I’m definitely enjoying this more than the sun arises

So far. Not impressed.

It's taking me forever to get to this book. Not because it's a bad book just because I'm insanely busy and I read about six pages a day. I really really really want to finish this book before the end of this summer.

Finally getting interesting

I'm close to the end. I have a hunch that when the protagonist completes what he set out to do, the result won't be as he had hoped. Just a guess.

I've not read many StevenKing novels and now I know why. This is insanely long. It's like Steven is so incredibly talented and prolific that he can't stop himself. The sub plots are richly detailed but who cares! I feel like I'm reading three books at once.

I'm almost done with Moneyball and without a doubt my favorite part is Lewis taking Joe Morgan to task for the ridiculous baseball logic he used to spout during Sunday Night Baseball. OK. I get it. He's a Hall of Famer and was on the Big Red Machine but for God's sake he's been saying the same crap for so long he actually believes it. And Jon Miller, who knew better, never corrected him once.

"He was a man too busy to flush toilets."
