Random thought that might or might not but the exclusive use of "she" to refer to a person is interesting in one way in thinking of *how* this pronoun was chosen. Is it because Leckie wrote this before "they" became more normalized, or is there some lore-related reason? Thinking about how the use of generic "he" was created and normalized back then ultimately for misogynistic reasons.
