So far a great story. Very much exciting, never a dull moment. The characters are all very well written and unique in their own ways.

A story of a boy trying to overcome the racial divide of America after the attack on pearl harbor and trying to make it as a soldier. The story is so far very interesting, the main character, Eddy, and his friends journey across the country where at every turn it seems as though they're being treated as the enemy.

The book is quite good. It teems with suspense and bravery at every tern. It's an incredibly captivating story of a band of men attempting to escape one of the most horrid prisoner camps of the first world war. The narrative adds so much more to the story, it gives so much backstory and explanations that really help to understand the feel of the men and of everyone during that time.

It's different. I'm not sure how I feel. It's written in a sort of poetry.

I find it hard to really become connected to any one of the characters. The author adds so many perspectives that it is hard to keep up with all of them, let alone actually care about them.

So far I've grasped the book is about what seems to be two rivals, uplanders and downlanders. However I have no clue what they really are. Are they families? Cultures? Cities? People?
