Until now, the story of this book is very intriguing. However, I think the author could've done a better job when it comes to describing the scenes. She uses nice metaphors and overall interesting tools, but it lacks in cohesiveness. The phrases don't flow and it is in some cases not very pleasant to read.

I had read another book by this author called 'The Wolves of Willoughby Chase' and I see a similar way of writing. Joan Aiken's writing is very formal and old-fashioned and this way of writing shines out of his writing.

Camille is on page 10 of 271 of Magic or Madness (Magic or Madness, #1)
From what I've read, the mother is considered mentally ill. The child hates her grandmother because of the storys her mother tells her. They've been running away from the grandmother her whole life yet the story begins with her 'getting caught' by her grandmother. She is forced to fly over to her grandmother in Sydney and from the reader's view the grandmother is actually a decent lady.

Camille is on page 100 of The Summer of Owen Todd
This book starts off with the close friendship between Owen and Sean. Their friendship began with a little fooling around after school, they were both in Pre-k. However, the story starts when they are eleven, at the end of 5th grade. At first, the reader has no idea what is coming because it all just seems like a normal, cliché book...

My first impression of this book is normal. The book isn't unique yet. It's about a girl. With her friend group planning a party and her sisters back home making sarcastic jokes together, the book showcases her middle school life.

I planned this book to be the book I read on the October break. Even though I am not staying in China, this story takes place in the nineteenth century in China. You can tell the author is skilled because the words and phrases he uses are precise and well-chosen like 'her loud voice roused.'

This book is about Theodora. She tries to help and support her mother while solving a mystery her grandfather left behind. The mystery begins when she accidentally spilled rubbing alcohol on a painting of an egg and realizes there's a masterpiece behind it. Because her grandfather was a security guard at the Museum, she suspects the piece was stolen...

Will and Ernie still daydream together about crushes but they have problems, in the 'inside'... "Then the table went silent... I wanted to talk more about Will and how he wasn't okay. But I couldn't... so I just sat there."

For the first few pages of the book, Will made Ernie tell the guidance counselor he was gay to get out of P.E. class because he gets teased by the other guys in the locker rooms (they say that that is their only option).

Ernie and Will both like fishing and are each others best and only friends. Their friendship is like ink to a pen. Without each other, they would be useless.

Camille is finished with Britt-Marie Was Here
I liked this book because it was very detailed and emotional. The author described almost every thought that passed Britt-Marie's head in almost every situation. After reading this book, I thought to myself: 'Where do I want to be when I am 63 years old?' Definitely not where Britt-Marie is...

Britt-Marie is not only kind and forgiving, but you can also notice a sense of loneliness in her life. She tries to get a job and is obviously trying to make people remember her. I think she feels like her 'perfect' life is with her husband because she cares awfully much about him and tries the best to make him happy.

Britt-Marie is polite, she is kind, she is not socially aware, she cares about manners a lot and she doesn't like to judge other people even though it seems hard for her. The way the author is describing Britt-Marie makes me think of a lady in early 1900 even though it is pretty clear that the story isn't based in the 1900.

The character seems almost as if he has some kind of mental disease...
Not only that, but he takes everything literally, for example: "I don't understand father when he says 'stay out of people's business'"
The character's mind also wonders a lot. For one page he could be talking about the blueness of the sky and the other page he could be talking about the prime numbers and how they are his favorite numbers.

This book does a good job at grabbing my attention. It's interesting, fun and well written. Until now I can't say too much about the story, but it hasn't let me down.
