I preordered this book along with Hell Bent and Rule of Wolves because I’ve loved most Bardugo books. These three listed? I wish I had checked out from the library instead. No more preorders for me. The Familiar has been boring and very reminiscent of VE Schwab’s Darker Shade of Magic trilogy.

This is not a fun read - definitely plodding along, boring pace. Currently prediction is that young Coleman was involved in Olivia’s disappearance when she was young, older Coleman (Sean?) saved her when son confessed and came to see her all these years later to relieve his conscience.

Oh, yes - please go your apartment WHERE YOU KNOW SOMEONE HAS BEEN INSIDE BEFORE and Ingrid telling you Dr. Nick just appeared in HER LOCKED APARTMENT. I know horror is often filled with “don’t go in there!” moments, but so many ffs moments in this book. Hard to root for you to live, Jules.
