#13 Riding the Bullet - One of King’s protagonists that you can’t help but liking. Loved how the tension built and stayed almost until the end. The conclusion is one to think about. Maybe a bit trying too hard to have a message, but still good. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

#12 1408 - Deliciously creepy. Also, for a “haunted place” story, it feels quite original. I like the tone setting and structure of this story. Want to watch the movie now. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

#11 The Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French - I liked this one. Short and sweet. And nasty, without trying too hard. Felt it worked for what it is. But a bit too many stories in this collection about unhappily married couples for my taste. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

#10 Lunch at the Gotham Cafe - Strange story. As with the previous one, I am mot convinced. Nice “action” sequence though, but the context was all weird and felt contrived. ⭐️⭐️

#9 The Road Virus Heads North - Not convinced by this one. Felt a bit unoriginal, and I did not care about the main character. Okay-ish but far from great. ⭐️⭐️

#8 L.T.’s Theory of Pets - King says it’s his favourite story of this collection. It starts very light hearted, but ends with a gut punch. Good storytelling. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

#5 In the Deathroom - I like KIng’s versatility, and that things can always go in any direction. This was a satisfying one. I liked it, however, some gruesome details were a bit too much ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

#4 The Death of Jack Hamilton - An endearing story about real gangster events in the 1930s America. Very charming. Loved the final paragraphs most. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

#3 All That You Love Will Be Carried Away - Phew - hit more than i would had expected. Couldn’t help but feeling sympathy to this weird guy. And restroom graffiti? I always found this fascinatingly creepy ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

#2 The Man in the Black Suit - Nice, creepy storytelling which might instil some horror in the religious type of reader. I liked it but also found it a bit flat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

#1 Autopsy Room Four - Started neat and nasty. Did not end as delightfully ugly, as I had hoped. Which says mire about me than the story, I guess. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Phew, last chapter was very emotional. Did think I really start to get annoyed by the confused, all-over-the-place storytelling. But I am good for now. The last pages of chapter 24 are beautifully sad 😢

I really like the grown up Jack Sawyer. Which is a big improvement to Talisman 1, where I found this 12-year-old rather annoying.

It’s getting good. Time investment to pull through the first 15% of this book seems to pay off.
