8% in and I’m getting annoyed at the listing of all the ingredients in her concoctions…. If this continues…

Not loving this…. Too many characters and I can’t keep track…. Amy is awful, trays her sister awfully…. Sophie puts up with it and I don’t know why…. Sophie let’s Phin have his way with her - and I don’t know why - oh yeah.. she’s too drunk to say no.. so far only character I like is Phin’s daughter Dillie…. Prolly won’t finish

Weellll…. Still very readable but not loving the ghosts and the journalist is really upsetting.. I can’t believe a die let her in

Skimmed through a fair bit of cringe at the end…. And the tuna bit is ludicrous…

The emotional goop in this is kinda exhausting…. Will try to make it to the end, but prolly won’t read the next one…. We’ll see…

I’m on the fence…. Lots of things I like but some things I’m struggling with…. New work colleagues seem a bit too perfect…. And the insta-connection on her part seems a bit odd (ok on his part given the history)…. Also…. While i see them as great friends, I’m not really buying into the romance - but that may say more about my state of mind than the book…

So…. Yes…. But no…
Still enthralled with the world building and plot…. And the writing is generally decent…. But…. The f bombs seem unnecessary - like author was trying to bulk up the word count…. And the hero trying to get up know the heroine feels contrived…. And there’s just a smidgeon of similarity to P Briggs books - and Briggs does it so much better…

I think this may have to be another DNF... CANNOT.GET.PAST.THE.FORTUNE.TELLER scene

Hmmmm... not feeling it... and the set up scenes (karaoke, fortune teller) are so cringey 😬... is it just me?

Struggling w this book... I want to like it and the escapism of it, but I’m finding the instalove relationship idiotic and the will-with-a-catch a rather lame plot device... but mostly, I just want to see the story unfold without the cringeworthy glances between the two main characters... yeesh...

So here’s the thing... possibly if I get further into the book I’ll find there’s a plot and I might actually be interested to learn how it turns out... for now tho we seem to be stuck with a love triangle and I appear to be rooting for the wrong guy... this may well end up being a DNF...

Hmmm... at the 20% mark and still waiting for the story to begin. Not really liking how things are shaping up so far.

So... hmmm... (sorta spoiler)... they spend weeks looking for her and go into battle completely unprepared?😱

Meh... nothing objectionable about it... but I haven’t been sucked into the plot and can’t say I’m really drawn to any of the characters...

A bit inconsistent... having difficulty keeping focus, but pretty sure I will finish and even try the next one... we'll see...
