Not even done and it’s easily my best book of the year. Full of rich character development and plot, it’s deeply satisfying and a wonderful continuation of the Priory of the Orange Tree.

I’m obsessed, this is excellent fantasy. I already have holds on books #2 and #3 for a robust SEVENTEEN WEEKS wait. Who will I even be on December 12, 2024, I.e. SEVENTEEN weeks!?

Love that we can a strong Two Spirit character as well.

This is a complete binge, and I regret nothing. Best series I’ve read in 2023.

Ok this thing is picking up, but WOOF y’all we persevERED to get to this point

Please read the Folk of the Air series instead. It’s far more faerie and interesting.

This is kind of boring, Beauty and the Beast slow sexual tension build . Like Katniss Everdeen was captured but decided to do paintings, then be a hunter again kind of way.

I’m too far in to quit now.

I LOVED The Cerulean Sea, and absolute treasure of a book, but I'm finding this one to be slow and lacking plot. We're being pulled towards the door throughout, I get it, and TJ undercover why ghosts have to operate as they do (crossing over, can't touch objects, why places 'feel' haunted)...but it doesn't feel like enough plot to motivate a reader.

DNF.

The most lucrative part of this book was helping me fall asleep. Second most lucrative part is you could use it as a drinking game for every time the phrase “Starless Sea” appears.

Seriously though, the plot moved at a snails pace, and the intrigue wasn’t enough to be…intriguing.

A slow start...so slow, that it put me to sleep rather quickly. BUT about 1/3 of the way through it really picks up, and now I'm hooked.
