Sometimes little things take me completely out of a book and I just can’t keep going. A handful of pages in and I get hit with this, “Sam was of average height. I’d be surprised if he was much more than six feet.”

Is this fantasy and she’s living in a world of giants?

For what it’s worth, the average height of a man in the US is 5’9”.

I think I hate this book. It’s been ridiculous and the bad that befalls the characters is frustrating, but I’ve been along for the ride. But I’ve reached a point where things happen that just don’t make sense. And I don’t mean that they don’t make sense in terms of real life (that’s the entire book), but the actions and effects don’t make sense in terms of the world that the author has built.

I can usually finish a book. Not this one, though.
