DNF. I don’t know why so many books I start aren’t working for me lately. I really thought I was going to like this one.

DNF. This is sort of like the book of Job except nothing is restored and then your pastor keeps going on about how Job was totally asking for it anyway.

Do you ever find yourself getting through a book faster when you dislike it?

Getting a tiny head start on my 2022 reading and already I’m sad I can’t write like this.

I have some free time, five books I'm currently reading, and I don't feel like picking up any of them right now. Does this ever happen to anyone else?

Honestly, this book is making me sad that I can't write like this.

I'm not sure I'm going to end up being into this, but it is kind of trippy to read a book about a pandemic set where I live right now.

I really like the idea here, but the main story is taking a while to get going, or maybe I'm reading too much fantasy lately. I might pick it up again later or try it not on audio.

Given the current political situation in my country, finding it hard to get into a book where foreigners are described as demons (this is a novel, so it's a character's point of view, not the author's -- just bad timing for me).

My father said that the reason I didn't like Up is because I get killed off in the start of the movie. I denied this at the time, but I'm pretty sure he was right. This book does the same, and I'm finding it hard to get into.

I have no idea where this is going, so I tried to explain the plot so far to my husband (not a mystery reader) and he couldn't make sense of it.

Thought the ending here was really well done. Now on to the short stories!

This is such a helpful way to think about things. I won't like though -- this is the first week of my putting the schedules into practice and it is NOT easy.

Very excited to be done with the story of Gharib! Hard to really get into a story when you know the outcome of every battle.

So far I'm happy I stuck with this.

I remember this being very well-reviewed. It lives up to the hype so far!

The first few chapters of this book are harrowing, so, having finally finished a nice chapter, I am afraid to pick the book back up again.

This starts out one way and ends up being more of a travelogue, but it’s informative and not as depressing as I assumed it would be.

These are really good so far. Definitely recommend “Ascot.”
