Rereading the series that started my love of Kay's books, decades ago!

time for another reread!

can't remember which reread this is, but it's been a while! While I do love the movies, I am reminded why I didn't care for Eowyn and Faramir in the movies. I liked them so much better in the books...

my roughly once-a-decade reread?? I'm so happy, child #2 recently finished the series and loved it

After spending this past year reading and learning about different aspects of geology (a crash course of sorts on things like mineralogy, volcanoes, subduction zones, and the like), I'm taking a step back to see more of the big picture with this book. Read half of it in one day, so... yeah, I'm finding it interesting!

Reread #something-or-other...

Well, W, I'm finding this book really useful, from both a cataloguing standpoint and a reference standpoint. It helps me to understand why subject headings are important when it comes to cataloguing, and helps clarify some of the reasoning behind cataloguing decisions. Also picking up some good tips on reference techniques. This is one I'm going to have to reread after I've gone through the whole thing!

I think this will go on my to-buy non fiction books. Really enjoying it, just finished the coast chapter.

I'm actually reading a newer version of this book, published 2015. It isn't in goodreads though...

Hmm, seem to be on a real re-read kick! Though once I get up to book 6 of Harry Potter it'll be new territory for me. I must be one of the few readers who hasn't finished the series...

Reread time!

Ho hum, 1/4 through and kind of bored...

Fascinating! I was looking through some of DK's "Definitive Visual Guides" at chapters last week, so I got this one from the library. I'm quite enjoying it so far! Though I'm not thrilled with some of the typography - far too much thin, tiny, white type on black.

Sadly, I had to return this to the library before I finished more than the first couple chapters. An interesting read accessible even to those without a science background. Can't really rate it yet though since I didn't get too far!
