Reading now that I am not a senior in high school. I was influenced by Brandon Taylor (of whom I am a fan on substack) to dig into Faulkner for the fun and joy of taking in good craftsmanship.

Do….we think this book was written by AI

Finally got my hands on this book and I am speed reading for a discussion on Monday. Wish me luck.

Just found out about this author from a podcast interview with her and she seems extremely cool. She lives in a middle class Christian commune in London and seems very wise. The title of this book is a little dorky but I’m excited about it!

I’m one husband in and it’s fuuuuuun

I have never read the hunger games. I have never seen a hunger game. So how did I know the plot all the way up to page 100 of this book??

Anyway, it’s a lot more interesting now that I’ve gotten to the parts I didn’t know about yet.

I think my Summer of Le Guin is coming to a close and I may be moving into a non-fiction Fall

Lmao rereading. I don’t remember anything about this except hating it.

I do not like the new goodreads ‘g’

Just read the story of how she sent emails during the labor of her first child…and I think the problems were not all Facebook

1hr left!!!!!!!!

3hrs left. 4 days until automatically returned to the library. We’re doing final statements at the trial. Let’s gooooooo

84% done, on the last “book” (it’s divided into 12 books), 5.5 hrs left in the audio book, 6 days before it gets returned to the library, it’s finally getting interesting

Got it back from the library haha

I’m never gonna finish this freakin book

Renewed the book!! 21 hrs in and things are finally happening lol

I have listened to 14 hrs. The audio book has been automatically returned two times. And I’m not even halfway through -.-

I would love to read some Susan Sontag—beyond the pull quotes I’ve seen from “Notes on Camp”. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to start?

Finished the first section, which is called something like “Childhood.” Main takeaway is that childhood in the mid 20th century in Italy was Very Violent.

Time to find out what this book by a mysterious author (no summary or detail of which has ever stood out to me as interesting or distinctive, with a late 90s-ass cover, and yet is on the NYT (extremely premature) top 100 novels of the 21st century list) is all about

This book is so bitchy lol

Every story so far is a banger.

It took until page 285!!!!!!!!!! For the main two bozos to have a real conversation 🙄🙄🙄

This book is crazy and idk how but it perfectly captures the emotional reality of college

I just started this last night and it’s already overdue at the library and there are no chapters? Just one long book? 😵😬

Ok I have to say that of the 1 million people who told me to read this book, literally no one warned me of how horrific literally everything in the first five chapters is

Oh no. I once again picked a book off the shelf at the library without reading the reviews. It looks like the people don’t like this one…I’ll keep you all posted.

I think this is gonna be my spooky read of the season 🎃

The goodreads reviews are like “The metafiction stuff is a lot” and I my thought was “…huh it doesn’t seem that wild or hard to track?” And then it gets CRAZY. No idea where it’s going lol
