This is not at all what I expected, and I’m really enjoying it!

Maybe I’m just not in the season of life when I asked for this book as a gift. I’m trying to hold onto the truths and let the things that bug me not take up brain space.

Wait… I’m starting to understand the hype. It’s gentle, but smart, and intriguing.

Not feeling very peaceful… However, I do feel intrigued by the story and am sad that I haven’t had much time to devote to it.

About to dnf. Just can’t stomach/condone affairs.

Has anyone read this book and can give me some encouragement? So far it has only given me feelings of hopelessness and sadness and frustration… I don’t know what I expected from a book set during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl, but I would appreciate insight into if I should continue.

I’m liking this so far. Especially cool that the titles of the chapters are all songs 🎶

This book is massive

Does anything ever happen or is it just rich kids hurting each other’s feelings?

Re-read and I’m already crying at the phenomenal quality of writing.

Is it a pallet cleanser or will it actually be good -my moral compass (a la Michael from The Good Place asking Janet if she actually has Eleanor’s file or another cactus)

Reading slump is officially over.

I don’t like it but since it’s the last book in the series I stubbornly feel like I have to finish it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Today is the kind of day where I wish I could curl up in my cozies by a window and fully immerse myself in this book. Alas, periodically staring out the window at work as I imagine Lizzie or Jane might will have to suffice.

I’m taking my time through this and using it as part of my devotions. Really wonderful and inspiring and real and honest. I love John Mark Comer’s writing and what God is doing in me through the book.

This feels like the slowest army crawl but I’m too stubborn to quit 🤦🏼‍♀️

This will be a 5 ⭐️ read.
