This book started off slow but is picking up speed now. Definitely better than hunger games. Raises some serious questions about what our society values.

It's pretty good but nothing to get excited about. I'm not sitting around wondering what the characters are doing when I'm not there.

"[Ingersoll] asserted that we 'need far more schoolhouses than we have, and while money is being wasted in a thousand directions, thousands of children are left to be educated in the gutter. It is far cheaper to build schoolhouses than prisons, and it is much better to have scholars than convicts (155).'" True or False? If true, why is this still an issue hundreds of years later?

Educating myself on one of the great free thinking orators and secularist history forgot. I'm having fun discovering the similarities between my political and religious views and those of the Enlightened Free Thinkers of the past. #nerdstatus

"As more women lean in to their careers, more men need to lean in to their families. We need to encourage men to be more ambitious in their homes. We need more men to sit at the table--the kitchen table."

After reading chapter 6 "Seek and Speak your Truth," I have a strong desire to work for Sheryl Sandberg. I hope one day I have the privilege to work for such a brilliant person. OR work for a company like Facebook.

This book really infuriates me sometimes. When women boast about being superior to men, I imagine men giggling behind their backs about the time they got us with the feminine mystique. Unbelievable!

In reality the book is only 172pages...anyway...I'm really enjoying this book so far. Though a lot of what she is writing about has already been said, countless times, she is highlighting great points and giving good reminders/advice. The truths are a little depressing but all you can do is apply this knowledge to your own career and pass the wealth to a friend.

I finally got back to it. I'm about 230pages deep in The Feminine Mystique too...the cause of the delay.
