This lady is literally torturing a child. A fae child, but still a child.

It's the perfect amount of quirky and serious, with lovely writing. In particular the descriptiveness is enjoyable while not being overwhelming or boring. I do like the process of Isobel thinking she is in love with Rook and trying to determine if she actually is or not. This is more appealing to me than the instant true love recipe many romantasy books seem to have, and I find it very realistic for a teenage girl.

Super good so far; a really great look at the trickery of the devil and how we've ended up here.

So far basically all Ruying does is complain. Like yes I understand your life is hard, but please do something other than complain about how hard it is. Does not make for enjoyable reading.
