Worth a reread

Yes. Yes we should.

I am kinda done with this series after one of the heroines was basically kidnapped for the third book in a row. The repetitive plot device was just too much.

Hoo boy the introduction needed an editor. it reads like an overwritten Freshman writing essay.

This is essentially, so far, an allegory of western intellectual history. And great for being so.

This book is fantastic so far. Well researched, well-written and interesting. The author clearly has a point of view and is making his case for how the Army should be led, but that perspective is clearly stated and not hidden, which makes it a refreshing read.

A great survey of our President's rhetorical development in the months and years leading up to his inauguration in 2009.

As good as everyone says it is. With a self-involved main character narrative that is written in such a way as to be effective and sympathetic (which sets it apart from The Catcher In The Rye, for example).

The narrative got a bit more linear and consistent as the book picked up. I really enjoy Terry's positive, fighting attitude throughout.

The pacing is frenetic, the timeline jumps around and the stories are engrossing. Yep, that's Terry.

He's definitely a storyteller!

This one is awesome. Not only do I love the secondary story (scrolls), but the primary story of Centurions working with Marines and the Navy is well done, and the return of Vitellius offers great opportunities for dialog and scheming. A well put together story!

It's interesting to see Cato and Macro out of Britain and get our first description of Rome.

This series is definitely a shift from standard historical fiction, replete with mystery and secrets to balance the strategy, battles and historical context.

I like the development of the characters independent of the Legion itself in this one.

This book is closer in feel to a Bond movie than historical fiction. Which is kinda interesting.

This continues to be fun and interesting, if not utterly compelling, to read.
