Parker Warren is so down bad for Elle and so bad at following Elle's one request and I don't know which trait I would let win if I were Elle.

So far: Taylor Swift references, name-dropping the Marvel Cinematic Universe, two ebook pages describing why she likes one specific coffee shop, Elle being exhausted after going *down* three flights of stairs(??), and no idea what's going through Parker's head when he seems overpresumptuous and has no reason on-page to even tolerate this girl. And she has no reason to tolerate him, either.

Waiting for Eliot to turn into a classic YA love interest instead of a boring rich guy politician's son with magic.
Shout-out to thief girl, though. I can't tell forks apart either.

And still, there's just this giant unavoidable plot hole that makes this story possible.

I must say this book is growing on me.

I could do without ever reading the asylum chapter again

Any book that uses the word "sexpertise" in a sex scene loses a star automatically

Something about this book is almost designed to make me incapable of reading it, even though I desperately want to finish this book and even though I've already skimmed the third before reading Envy and Gluttony's books.
