This book really was about a looooonnngggg winter. Haha! Probably our least favorite of the series but also gave such a good perspective into the hardships of winter on the American frontier durinf the 1800’s.

It took me about 1/3 of the way into this book to catch my interest. It took me time to keep all the characters straight. This was an interesting read that would lend itself to really thought provoking discussions. As I listened I got the impression that I was only scratching the surface in regards to understanding the larger issues the author was writing about. 3.5 ⭐️

Much more academic than I was expecting but inspiring to hear how he found purpose and helped others find purpose in their lives despite and sometimes because of their suffering.
