Oooh why have I avoided this for so long, this is so much fun 😭

OK I'm really liking this so far, but also... I neeeeeeed answers 😂

"You used to sing," Adam says. "All the time. It's the first thing it took away from us. But I remember."

...great. Thanks for making me sob, I guess 😭😭😭

How do you even trust any of your own thoughts and plans when you're fighting an entity that manipulates and messes with your memory... I'd do the same thing I always say I'd do in a zombie apocalypse - run towards zombies, just make it quick 😭😭😭

OK fine, I watched the film so of course I need to reread this now 🤷

I don't know how to explain this, but so far, this reads a bit like a fanfic, but... not in a good way? 🥲

Henry, my man 😩😩😩... because what kind of a plan is this

Excuse me, what do you mean his parents are in the room, watching them "consummate their marriage" as well 😭😭😭

Damn girl, you have a serious crush you're NOT happy about from page ONE.

I need to just stop reading about personal lives of my favourite artists, because why were they all assholes to women...

I feel sick... whenever I think I cannot imagine them committing anything more disgusting or atrocious, every new page proves me wrong. The actual quotes from the soldiers are horrifying.

Istg, every new chapter title makes me STRESSED. "Fork" I don't know if I want to know where will this fork go 😭😭😭

"Yes," I confirm. I pride myself on not doing stupid things, so it's the truth.
I'm sorry but with the circumstances she's in, the delulu in this sentence is hilarious 😭

Currently...here for Tobias 🤷

Ugh miscommunication is miscommunicating 😩 ...to jail with both of you.

So happy I will finish this before I watch the film tomorrow, so I can be appropriately pretentious 🙏

"He kisses his teeth," I mean...sure? If you say so?

Nooooo... There is NO. WAY. in hell someone could just sign up as a life drawing model without going through a proper modelling workshop... Also, as an artist who's attended life drawing sessions on a weekly basis for years, I can tell you that a "perfect model" isn't about how a person looks, but about how well they can pose and hold a specific pose.

"...overcome with a strange, swirling sensation in her stomach that she knew from her books to call insecurity."

I guess mermaids don't normally have insecurities...must be nice 🥲

Over 100 pages and I'm still wondering why we had to be so dramatic about separating our MMC and FMC at the end of book 1, when we immediately have them constantly interacting here without issues.

Sooo... she's a mermaid and his name is Fin(n)?...FATE? 🤷

Mystery/Thriller really doesn't seem to be my genre... I blame my mom and her obsession with Investigation Discovery Channel (it's all that was ever on TV at home 😭)

Books about art/architecture without pictures should be... I don't know. Given a trigger warning, something like "This book might really piss you off"

Re-read, to see if I'm going to like it as an adult (I read it only once, as a literal child)

Yeah, be more angry please 😠

Oh boy...
