My suspicions were right! With a third of the book to go, now it’s exciting to see how the characters find out and what still to come that I wasn’t expecting.

I think I've figured out all of the plot twists and reveals to come. I'm pretty invested in the characters by now, so it remains to see if the predictability will matter.

Don’t judge me! Found this book for free at the library and the description piqued my interest.

Kellie is finished with Humankind: A Hopeful History
This book makes several convincing arguments regarding "homo puppy" (aka the inherent goodness of mankind). However, the heavy focus on debunking anti-goodness studies felt hollow after a while.

An alternative name for this book could be “Microaggressions in Academia.” It’s giving me so many flashbacks to people and events in graduate school.

Kellie is 25% done with Project Hail Mary
I don't understand 75% of the science in this book, but fortunately the other 25% is enough for me to follow the basics of what is happening. Much like The Martian previously, the witty narration also makes what could have been a very dry, step-by-step plot all the more entertaining. Onward!

I’m reading this for a book club, but it also seems kinda fitting to be doing so on July 4th.

Really enjoying this horror movie-esque retelling of the Donner Party. However, its almost necessary to have prior knowledge of the real event in order to understand what’s happening.

This book kept me up until 1am last night, and the only reason I didn't try to finish it is because I have to work today. Can't wait to get home and finish it!

My middle and high school English classes read some pretty random SciFi novels, so I’ve spent the first 5 chapters of this book in a state of deja vu. If it had come out 10 years sooner, I’m certain it would have been on the class reading list.

One of my theories was correct. Really liking this book though, and I'm not usually a fan of mysteries or thrillers.

I have 2 possible theories of what happened to Amy. I really hope I'm wrong on both of them.

Promising beginning, but this novel is starting to lag for me. Not only did (spoiler!) Ann Brashares kill off one of my favorite characters, but the remaining heroines have been reduced to whiny, moopy bores as a result. I understand that they're in mourning, but reading the same "woe-is-me" inner monologue over and over again (with little progression or effort to resolve said woes) gets depressing after awhile.

Not really sure how I feel about this book. I love the author, but her handling of the YA genre is at times sloppy and superficial. Hope it gets better.

Meh. The narrator's voice reminds me alot of Bella Swan (or at least a caricature of a teenager). Plus, its hard to take this book seriously when I know about the rumors that its entirely fake.
