This novel is anything but elegant, but the author is onto something that not only trans teenagers experience. For a moment, I felt as though he reached into my psyche, and pulled from it a deep and personal story that I had only seen in a couple others.
Michael is perceptive as hell. And he'll probably become an even better author. This has been good, if not, quite rote, in all other manner.
