My first Bronte, yay! Not sure what I was expecting, but this is turning out to be wittier and fun-ner (?) than I thought it'd be.

the TV show truly did polish this into a diamond of the purest variety. the character development and world building in this book are all so dumbfoundingly poorly constructed that it makes me surprised somebody saw so much potential in this. i'm glad they did, though.

i might read the 2nd book to see what lies ahead (ahead of the show, even 👀), but im not sure I will as of yet. we'll see.
