I had a feeling I knew where this is going so I read some reviews and my worst fears were confirmed. I'm not sure I'll finish this book/series purely because of this. Especially because triangles are almost always messy in a bad way.

Honestly, the spirit of the book and movie match so far. Of course specific details have to change to make the movie make sense vs the book because we don't have the inner monolog as easily, but still seems on par so far...

It's interesting how it is sometimes easier to open up to strangers and people who don't know you, even when those who do only want what's best for you and love you as you are. Sometimes that familiarity makes accepting love harder, since you can't convince yourself that the love isn't real

I understand that trauma is different for everyone, we all cope differently, and Nesta wasn't a warm person to begin with, but it seems very unfair how she's treating everyone around her and very different from how she was in the first 4 books. Maybe I'll understand by the end... but so far, I don't.

I honestly still hate Nesta. So... where is this magical redemption 😭

This is the first series in a while where I've not only enjoyed every single book, but I wanted all the books right away, got them despite other things I'm reading, and made my way through the entire series. With my husband no less (on audio. The narrator is excellent!). The hype is well deserved!

I remember hearing somewhere how different the book and movie are, but honestly I disagree. I think the movie has done the book justice thus far, even getting direct dialog from the book itself. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I think people assume a book is the screenplay/script of a movie, not understanding how each media functions and the different purposes of each.
