I called it the moment it happened way back when... still: FINALLY 😅

This is the first series in a while where I've not only enjoyed every single book, but I wanted all the books right away, got them despite other things I'm reading, and made my way through the entire series. With my husband no less (on audio. The narrator is excellent!). The hype is well deserved!

I remember hearing somewhere how different the book and movie are, but honestly I disagree. I think the movie has done the book justice thus far, even getting direct dialog from the book itself. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I think people assume a book is the screenplay/script of a movie, not understanding how each media functions and the different purposes of each.

I get where Nina is coming from, because unlearning that behavior takes time. Even noticing it does. But it's no less frustrating. How long before everything comes undone???

Trying the audiobook to get into this series. Plenty of books 😅

Listening to the audiobook. It's crazy how different this is from the movie. Almost like a completely different story, even if major basic points all match up. Both are good in their own ways, but you definitely have to appreciate them separately.

Wil Wheaton is doing an excellent job narrating 🖖🏽

Though it isn't necessary, I feel like I should've reread some of the previous series with Vi and Taavin. The lore is clearly important but not well- known to most.

If Cullen is her love interest, I already don't believe it. Also, the villain is pretty obvious, yet I don't understand his involvement yet. It'll be interesting to see how the pirate queen fits into all this, though.
