These books are like putting on a warm pair of slippers!

This is a well-written book and I wanted to read it. I'm just not finding the time because it requires a lot of energy.

I read the paper book before, and now I'm doing the audio book because I've heard so many good things about it.

Not definite I can keep reading; this one seems pretty grim.

Trying another gentle, fairytale-style book to listen in the middle of the night. So far, it's working . . .

I'm moving this to DNF. I am listening to the audio book and I dislike the narrator, but I don't think I'd like it much better if I were reading it. I think the main problem is that I'm in the art business, and the story is about art. Clearly, the author knows nothing about art, and it's just too irritating.

I'm doing an experiment where I am simultaneously watching the Netflix movie version of this book, while I'm also listening to the audio book. I've rarely had the chance to see how much a movie deviates from the book in real time. The movie does not deviate that much, and a part of me is thinking that the movie is better, mainly because they secured quite good actors. None of this is to say that it's award winning.

Ann Patchett's essay collection mentioned this children's author and this specific book. It's pretty charming.
