This is probably my favourite book: it has so many parallels with my own life - a man who transferred to English department in his undergraduate years and determined to pursue literature as his life career. What strikes me is the existential connotation behind the plot, simple but powerful, repeatedly seeking the meaning of life. I personally love this ending. It signifies not death but consummation and commencement.
