So far, this is a wonderful YA novel, one I would want to talk about with my students. Deep characters, authentic issues, and strong writing make it a compelling read as well.

Love when an author trusts me to notice his/her cleverness without feeling the need to point it out. This is one of those authors. She is a wordsmith and clever (without trying too hard in either), and I am enjoying it immensely.
