This character is Conan-esque in his ability to be tricked in super obvious ways and then fight his way out of situations that are written to make him seem super badass.

Adding this to my good reads just to complain that in chapter 21, Wolfe mixes Zulu and Australian Aboriginal terms in a way that’s kinda gross and exoticizing.

Rereading this for the first time since 2010 and man am I delighted! So different from the adaptations in the ways I love about novels.
