Holy crap, this isn’t just the ebook of the book on my shelf I’m too lazy to carry around for the vacation. This is the new, revised edition, with a bunch of new essays. What a discovery!! I am so excited.

Some good ideas, but some of this feels too formulaic. I’ve set this aside for a while in favor of Story Grid. May well be helpful to other writers; its organization and writing just didn’t stick with me —- but your mileage may vary! I plan on getting back to this at some point.

Opened this book by mistake on my Kindle. I mean, I bought it! I will read it at some point. Really. It looks good.

Good ideas so far. Worth paying for even if you’re a fan of storygrid.com. I’m finding his strategy useful for tightening up my own writing. Well written and clear, definitely important if you’re going to be writing a book about writing. Would recommend to other fiction writers.

Plugging away at this. I’m training for my first 5K, and this fits well with the training regimen I’ve selected. Well written and clear.

Great so far. Unfortunately, we've cleaned the house and I'm not sure which stack it went in. :(

Definitely a good overview for folks wanting general principles. I may not finish this --- I know most of the material. I was mostly reading it to see if it was appropriate to give to my father and a few other folks. Will write a longer review of my thoughts later.

DNF. A combination of style and approach in this book really, really put me off. There are much better self-improvement books that are both better written and more useful.

Hmm. Not really reading all of these books at once. Put a few down. Loving Please Kill Me. The Machine Learning book is a good general overview; got it to skim see about a copy for my father, and it was good enough to give him a copy.
